Packing for your maternity bag and getting ready for the upcoming labour? Always wondered whether the average hospital list that’s going around is legit or not? But here’s the TOP 3 Category of things for Mothers that I’ll recommend you to bring along!
NO. 1 - THE SUPER ESSENTIALS
THESE ARE THE SUPER IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS:
IC
Marriage Certificate
Admission Letter
Prenatal Receipts (for discharge claim)
Credit Card (for deposit)
Place them into your maternity bag at probably 36 weeks onwards, you wouldn’t want to be searching for those after you deliver your baby. Simply flash them out at one go and you can register your Child’s birth right at the hospital easily. Note that if you don’t do it at the hospital, you’ll have to register at ICA instead and your Child has to be present during the collection. It will definitely be more convenient to do it at the hospital right away during your stay.
NO. 2 - THE BASIC ESSENTIALS
The following items are essentials that you will need during your stay, but depending on your hospital, most are provided. However, if you prefer to bring your own, you can!
Maternity Pads
Mesh / Disposable Panties
Nipple Cream
Breast Pad
Breast Pump (some hospitals may not allow you to use your own)
Well…stated as basic essentials but you may not end up using all to be honest. Of course, they will make you feel better when you are well equipped with these stated items.
NO. 3 - THE HAPPY ESSENTIALS
The following list can go on and on because they are for “happiness” sake! More for the happiness of a Mother who has just gone through delivery.
Your preferred Pyjamas (for comfortability)
Phone charger (to be in time to share on your social media platforms)
Favourite snack (to keep you happy while waiting to deliver)
Favourite pillow (so you can be at utmost comfort in your ward)
Your preferred entertainment (to indulge before delivery or during rest)
A happy Mother is the way to go for a happy confinement! Remember that your emotional health is as important as your physical health. And also, take note that the above stated are solely for Mommies only. Don’t forget to prepare discharge items that both you and your little one will need.
Newborn Romper
Newborn Swaddle
Newborn Mittens and Boots
Newborn Cap
Your own set of clothes for discharge!
As for the Daddies, just pack enough clothes to change over the span of at least 3 days and you’re good to go! Good luck Mommies, hope the concise maternity list helps!
